The tourist card is the equivalent of the entry visa for Cuba.
Anyone wishing to go to Cuba for a tourist stay of 30 maximum days must be in possession of a tourist card (nominative) for Cuba issued, for a fee, by the Cuban consulate in Paris and the French tour operators approved by the Cuban authorities.
Make sure not to exceed the maximum length of stay (30 days), under risk of detention by the immigration services at the time of departure.
To date, no vaccine is required in Cuba.
Nevertheless, persons who have stayed or transited in areas prone to risk of transmission of yellow fever should provide a yellow fever vaccination certificate upon entry into Cuba. The vaccines that are recommended are: diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid fever and finally vaccination against rabies.
There are international sections in Cuban hospitals in most provincial towns. Cuban pharmacies are often out of stock, so it is recommended to bring your usual medicines and some essential drugs.
The official language of the Republic of Cuba is Spanish.
Cuba has a dual economy. The official currency in Cuba is the Cuban Peso (CUP) and the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC). In theory, tourists can only use Convertible Pesos, but there's nothing stopping you from going to a Cadeca (Bureau de Change) and changing Convertible Pesos for Cuban Pesos. .
