Boutique 5 * Luxury hotel, L'Esencia is a chic address located 45 minutes south of Cancun on the Riviera Maya and 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen.
Perfectly secluded from the world around it, the property is surrounded to the north by the pristine Mayan jungle and to the south by Xpu-Ha Cove, often referred to as the most beautiful stretch of the Riviera Maya.
As its name suggests "Essence", it is a return to the sources and the fundamentals which awaits you. You can hardly guess the entrance to the Esencia hotel from the road. Two small purple burlap flags are the only clue to this secret address. No parking, customers are welcomed in a small typical house. A very personalized welcome where you will be alone, here is a very original and personalized welcome. A mini golf will take you to the main building.
Member of the “Small Leading Hotels of the World” hotel group, the Esencia opened its doors in March 2006. It is decorated with great taste and style by the owner of the premises, theEsencia Boutique Hotel gives the impression of arriving in a private house and not in a hotel. The Estate covers 20 hectares.
Located on a beautiful 2 mile (3,2 km) sandy beach, Xpu-ha Beach, the property mixes forests, daily tended gardens and iguanas basking in the Mexican sun. It will be difficult for you to interrupt their nap, here we leave room for nature and the eco-system.
A new chapter began in 2014 with the arrival of a new owner and a bold, worldly outlook on how to preserve this little paradise.
Originally built as the private refuge of an Italian duchess, the main house remains the centerpiece of the hotel, around which small paths lead you to the others suites and villas in perfect discretion.

'Yum-Ha' is a majestic colonial style villa discreetly nestled within a lush 15 hectare property. This 3-bedroom villa is just a 3-minute walk from the beach.
