Upon arrival at Reykjavik Airport, pick up of your rental vehicle. Depending on your arrival time, we suggest you stretch your legs, jump into the deep end and try your hand at the water sources of the Blue Lagoon. Overnight in the capital Reykjavik. Road through the lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula.
After breakfast, head to the Snaefellsnes peninsula with your guide to discover several sites around the peninsula. You will discover the Snæfellsjökull glacier-volcano, enjoy beautiful walks by the sea, along the cliffs of the village of Arnarstapi or the pebble beaches of Djupalonssandur. You will also make a stop in Budir, to admire its superb church and its sandy beach. Night at the same place as the day before.
This day will begin with a walk between volcanoes and the seaside with the high black rock cliffs which contrast with the orange of the Öndverðarnes lighthouse where you can admire the many birds (cormorants, puffins…) which nest there. Then you will discover Kirkjufell, one of the most famous mountains in Iceland culminating at 463 m but original, share its very particular shape, it faces a lake and a waterfall.
You will also visit the shark museum with an unforgettable tasting… Whale watching excursion from Grundarfjordur for a duration of approximately 3 heres. Night at the same place.
This day dedicated to the visit of the Golden Circle and its three iconic sites are Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir. You will walk in the middle of the lava formations where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates separate.
This park, located in the southwest of Iceland, where the plenary assemblies of the Icelandic people are held from 930 to 1798, has been classified as a national park by Unesco. Called “Althing”, it is a place with deep historical and symbolic resonances.
After admiring the natural beauties of the Thingvellir National Park, you will continue to the famous Geysir site, to be surprised by the power and spontaneity of its geyser.
The day ends at the foot of Gullfoss, one of the most powerful and beautiful waterfalls in the country. Overnight in Hella on the south coast.
Explore the stunning scenery from Route 1, stopping near Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Waterfalls before discovering the impressive basalt columns of Reynisfjara, Dyrholaey Cliffs, and the black sand beach of Vík. Overnight in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur.
Always on the road N ° 1, you will cross the lava of Laki, an impressive landscape!
On the way to the glacial lagoon of Jokulsarlon, you will admire the Vatnajökull glacier from Skaftafell, a stop will allow you to make a beautiful hike in the national park to the waterfall of Svartifoss. You will then arrive in front of one of the most beautiful places in Iceland, the glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón, discover the place before taking the road for another night in Kirkjub.
Return to Reykjavik at the end of the morning, stroll along the charming alleys of the capital, its old port, its houses with colorful facades, but also much more modern buildings such as the Harpa concert hall, the Alþingi parliament or the majestic Hallgrimskirkja cathedral. Evening and dinner downtown.
